Mark is a professional landscape photographer and educator based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. His passion for the subject comes from the love of travel and being outdoors in remote places. He studied electronics in the ‘90s and subsequently repaired and sold electronic products in the retail industry until his passion for photography became too great and turned his hobby into a profession. Mark learnt the art of landscape photography using an Ebony large format film camera before converting to digital in the late 2000’s. He currently uses Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop for all image processing. Mark is represented by Athena Art online gallery for print purchases. Mark has been teaching landscape photography and post-processing for over 20 years and runs photography workshops around the UK and abroad. He also teaches for the Royal Photographic Society, Joe Cornish Galleries and Dawn 2 Dusk Photography.
I have visited the Outer Hebrides ten times and counting since 2015 – visiting for personal photography and to run workshops. A place I know very well and feel settled in and spiritually uplifted by. Whether I’m being pummelled by turbulent storms or relaxed on a golden sandy beach at dusk – it just takes my breath away! This talk is about the stories, trials and challenges behind some of the many images I’ve taken on Harris, Lewis, North & South Uist, Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay along with a little technical information, too.
Our regular Monday meetings start at 7.30pm and usually finish between 9pm – 9.30pm
