Our season restarted on Monday September 5th when we welcomed Paul Berriff OBE as our Guest speaker. Two of the three winners of our Open Competition were presented with their prizes and a certificate.
After introductions all the competition images ( 3 winners shown right) were shown and the judges comments read out to the full-house audience. Paul Berriff presented the winners after each category images was shown (images to follow). The Landscape Winner is still to receive her print but we hope to present it in the near future.
Following the presentations Paul spoke about his 9/11 experience of 21 years ago. The moving presentation was made to a hushed audience and it was quite clear many people felt moved by the story. At the end of the talk Paul took questions from members of the audience. Finally a raffle was held with the star prize being one of Paul’s classic prints of The Beatles taken in 1963. The print in itself has a commercial value of around £1000 and we are grateful to him for donating it. The lucky winner was club member, Dave Snowdon.
