The first Members’ Night competition of the season, the Open, was held on 13th October. There was a good entry from all three classes with a total of 66 PDI images from 22 authors and 21 Print entries from 7 authors. The competition was judged by Jo Rose, who has worked with Joe Cornish in the past and has judged International competitions. She gave detailed and constructive comments on all the images. We are very grateful to her for stepping in when Jim McCormick, our original judge, was taken ill.
The PDI competition was won by Pat Kearton with Basilisk Lizard with Ant. In second place was David Snowdon with The Lie of the Land. In third place was Pat Kearton with European Bee-eater Aggression. The Best Intermediate image was Early Morning Scar House by Hazell Robson and the Best Club image was Little Owl new member Margaret Tunstall.
The Print competition was won by Paul Cayton with Metamorphic. In second place was Lynne James with Forth Road Bridge. This was also the Best Intermediate image. In third place was Paul Cayton with Enchanted Forest, a double exposure creating a dreamy effect. The Best Club image was all three of Stuart Goldie’s images: Sunflower, 40’s Ladies and Foxglove.
Well done to everyone who entered, it led to a very enjoyable evening.
